RIVER OF DREAD
Early concept art for Seneca Haynes' River of Dread, specifically for the sequence in which The Interlocutor "terrorizes" the town. A close look at the boards reveal some interesting details. Not only is an early Interlocutor design on display, but the appearance of the student reflects a concept proposed by producer Jack Bennett; that the doctors would be period characters circa the 1950s while the disgruntled students would be contemporary characters in modern dress. Fortunately, director Haynes rejected this idea outright.
Also of note; The Interlocutor trying to direct traffic rather than being frightened by it, and in the playground shot The Interlocutor is clearly being mobbed by laughing children, in direct contrast to the final filmed version.
