A Word from Jack Bennett, the director of FOOL

Watching FOOL with all of you on April 16th was one of the most initially tense and ultimately thrilling experiences of my life, and it ended up being the most satisfying night so far in the life of this damn movie.

It turns out that the showing was actually a test screening. I wouldn't have tried to pass off that version as the final cut, but I've since learned that there is never going to be a final product until you hear the sound of a crowd watching your work.

So thank you so much to everybody who watched FOOL on April 16th, and hearing your astonished laughter, watching your cell-phones light up as you checked the time, and hearing that collective groan during that one scene (you know the one I'm talking about...) did more to teach me about my own movie than an uncountable amount of hours in the editing room. Remembering that, and remembering that even in the last few minutes of an overlong, unevenly paced movie we still got one last big belly laugh from all of you, it added up to a resounding success; for me, for the cast, and most of all, for the future success of the movie itself.

Thank you to Arts Fusion, especially Sarah Chandler and Katherine Keefe, thank you to Derek Knoderer for sound better than the source deserved, and a special thanks to John, Seneca, Cullen, Vanessa, and Sara, who were in attendance, and thank you very much to everyone who talked to me individually after the show.

And to all you people who applauded when she put that condom in her mouth... God bless you.

Come see it on the 30th. It's going to be an explosively great movie.

Cheers,
Jack
